Introduction

Media imported into Adobe Premiere Pro project will appear in the Project panel. Below image shows a Project Panel with items labeled.

Views

A asset in the project can be viewed in below views:

  • List view : Displays additional information about each asset. Customize the amount information it displays as required.
  • Icon view : Perfect for viewing asset. Move your cursor over an icon and the clip plays backwards or forwards as you drag your mouse.
  • Freeform view : Perfect for visually organizing assets and creating storyboards with media.

Below figure shows an example of Freeform view, where multiple video clips are stacked one above other to create a storyboard.

View Presets

Project View Presets saves information about which metadata columns are visible in View, as well as their arrangement from left to right. To store an arrangement such it can be used later:

  • Arrange clips in a layout as required
  • Click hamburger button in the upper right corner of Project Panel menu and choose Save As a New View Preset.
  • Give the new preset layout a name, and click OK.

To apply a view preset,

  • Click hamburger button in the upper right corner of Project Panel menu and choose Restore View Preset.
  • Select a view preset form the list shown

To delete stored view preset, click hamburger button in the upper right corner of Project Panel menu and choosing Manage Saved View Presets.

Labels

All the item in the Project panel has a label color, to see the label color switch to List view. When a clips is added to a sequence, they are displayed in the Timeline panel with this label color. Labels can be used for classifying the files based on certain criteria. Below figure shows the default label color assigned by Premiere Pro.

To change the label color to Mango, right-click on the file and choose Label > Mango.
